Whoz Jehra tha Kobla
Yeah, talking of time I came to this earth is one of the things I love most. I was born on a Sunday morning in Kapsabet. This is a town surrounded by the beautiful Nandi Hills. HipHop came into my life scene in 1995 when I was in Primary 7. That’s when the East coast and West coast beef was at bliss in USA. Newspapers here Kenya were not left behind as the Radio and TV presenters tried to make us enlightened. At this time memorizing the music by other Mceez like 2-pak, BIG, Ice Cube, Coolio…then doing it before youth crowds in classes. But the real growth of Hiphop in me came when I joined Secondary School- Samoei.
In 1997, I met Longo (Francis Kipkemboi), Jay Jax (John Samoei), Majikz (Wilberforce Kiplagat) and Senzo (Denis Rop) in Samoei. Since we were not into vulgar stuff, we did some rhymes every Sunday in the compulsory Church Service. We rolled with the name LMNJ Rappers. This time HipHop became my love, everything that sounded hiphop I knew it.
The big brand of multiple a.k.a’s due to my abilities in HipHop gave variance from point of school to home. My group dropped no album by 2000 and that’s the time I was renewed.
Coming out of secondary school sounded bright for our music but all was blurred. Different interests and fear dominated the hearts of my members, anyway its all gone, God Knows.
Coming 2001, I met a tight Mcees in Bugema Adventist Secondary School in Uganda
known as Dumie Jay (Dube Dumiso from Zimbabwe), Lady Jackie (Jackie Nakayinja from Tanzania) and Shidi (Rashid from Kenya) and we did a thing in a karaoke which never came again, so our lyrics we folded and pens thrown away.
The lord had his plans. In 2003, I joined Makerere University, twas a chance to meet Renee Mcee and Ivy-No-Hell in Mass communication class. This was made by our friend Dalphine George who is now in SA (South Africa).
This time our meeting was with focus to serve Yahweh in truth and spread the word through his help. The genre in use is Hiphop….
I have forgotten the rest…..mmmm but now am for Jesus Christ alone.
